The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Mumbai is a premier fashion and design institute that traces its origins to the establishment of NIFT in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The parent institution was created to professionalize fashion, textile, and apparel education in India, and in 2006 it became a statutory body empowered to grant its own degrees. As part of NIFT’s national expansion, the Mumbai campus was established in 1995 in Navi Mumbai, positioned strategically in one of India’s most vibrant metropolitan regions and known as a hub for fashion, commerce, and industry. Spanning approximately ten acres, the campus was designed with modern infrastructure including studios, labs, classrooms, machine rooms, and smart facilities to provide students with an environment conducive to creativity, technical learning, and industry exposure. Over the ye
